Chief Quality Control Inspector

Reporting to the Quality Director, the Chief Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the day to day management of the work of the QC team in providing quality inspection of aerospace components in order to meet the critical standards required for Customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 - Resource, delegate and fulfil the day to day work activity of the QC team

 - Completion and maintenance of QC processes and documentation, ensuring adherence across the QC team to the required standards

 - KPI and QC performance reporting

 - Inspection of detailed parts in accordance with design data

 - Perform product First Article Inspection Reports (VISUAL FAIR) and prepare documentation

 - Completion of quality reports

 - Completion of any work related tasks which would be deemed reasonable of this role

 - Raising of 5 Why and 8 D documentation, and support to rest of the team in this activity

 - Maintenance of supplier and reject logs

 - Data entry and administration

 - Good Inwards Inspection

 - Raising non conformance reports

 - Ensure at all times that the test equipment and test procedures are used within the agreed safety procedures /guidelines

 - Coach, mentor and train QC team members to develop QC capability and performance

 - Support all relevant functions, promote and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the team

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 - Previous experience in Aerospace or an AS9100 environment preferred in a supervisory/ team leadership role

 - Recognised qualifications in Manufacturing and Quality Management Systems

 - Knowledge of requirements found in SABRe an advantage

 - Experience in performing product FAIRs and preparation of documentation packs

 - A full understanding of Non-Conformance Reporting (NCRs) and experience of review, investigation and resolution of manufacturing non-conformances

 - Must be task/achievement focussed.

 - Good practical skills with a high level of manual dexterity

 - Highly accurate, strong attention to detail and methodical approach

 - The ability to accurately compile and maintain records

 - Computer literate, Windows based – strong oral and written communication skills

 - A strong team leader with a flexible and organised approach to work load

 - Continuous Improvement, safety-focused and quality-oriented mindset

 - Must be reliable, consistent, and have high standards of professional integrity
