Engineering Apprenticeship

Are you passionate about pursuing a career in advanced manufacturing? Are you dynamic, committed, motivated and willing to learn new skills? Then join our growing team at Tods Aerospace and gain a Composites Technician Engineering Apprenticeship.

Commencing in September 2019, our Engineering Apprenticeship is a Level 3 Composites Technician Apprenticeship and will be a mixture of practical on the job training and academic training. The scheme will take four years to complete with day release for academic training. The apprentice will be expected to complete the training, meeting the required standard and obtaining the agreed academic qualification.

At work, the apprentice will complete rotations in different areas of the business such as Clean Room, Assembly, Trim, Engineering, CNC and Quality (subject to change) over two years and will be assessed for a further two years in their chosen placement. Throughout their training they will be assigned mentors who will support their development and ensure they get the support they need from the company. The apprentice will be required to report on their achievements at the end of each module and attend an interview, where they can provide feedback to their mentor.

At work, the apprentice will complete the following tasks on a day-to-day basis:

 - Complete the training to the required standard and obtain the agreed academic qualifications.

 - Follow, process and complete all Manufacturing Instruction Sheet documentation as required. Keep accurate, up to date records of work undertaken and keep the relevant documentation with the part to maintain product integrity and traceability of the part, ensuring the work completed is over-stamped by an experienced operator until quality stamp issued.

 - Report on your achievements at the end of each module and provide feedback to your mentor, team leader or manager.

 - Make test pieces as per instructions.
