Junior Buyer

We are a market leader in Aerospace composite manufacturing, working with exciting technologies and materials to design and build advanced composite structural components and assemblies. We are seeking a Junior Buyer to join our Procurement team at our site in Crewkerne, Somerset.

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide 100% On Time Delivery of Goods and Services to Internal Customer whilst ensuring best Value for Money and Just-in-time principles to support and deliver agreed business goals and objectives.

A brief overview of responsibilities is as follows:

  • Work with the Planning and Supply Chain team (Crewkerne) to support and deliver agreed business goals and objectives
  • Attend Production Meetings as appropriate to report on shortages, recovery plans and problem suppliers
  • Identify any risk to achieving the target and early intervention to mitigate/recover the situation by working with team to ensure product continually moves through to planned deliverables
  • Assist in the management of consignment/VMI/MinMax Stock in line with Production Requirements to support 100% OTIF to internal Customers
  • Raise Direct Purchase Orders in line with Contract Review Process, Authorisation Procedures and best value for money (VFM)
  • Raising indirect Purchase Orders in accordance with IMS including but not limited to Service Agreements and Capital Expenditure
  • Accurate and timely creation of supplier contracts with retention of master documents in line with IMS
  • Manage logistics process/es to ensure accurate and timely delivery of purchased parts / components to meet agreed supplier delivery scheduled dates
  • Produce accurate and timely reports for confirmed bill of materials with scheduled delivery dates
  • Support the Lead Buyer to assist in expediting as required

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in purchasing, expediting, negotiation and order book management, preferably in Aerospace sector
  • Computer literate, Windows based & ERP Knowledge preferred
  • AS9100 Rev D Business Quality Management & SC21 Awareness
  • A good team player with integrity and a flexible attitude to work load
  • Excellent communicating skills
  • Good concentration levels and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (desirable)
