Job Description

We are a market leader in Aerospace Composites manufacturing, working with exciting technologies and materials to design and build advanced composite structural components and assemblies. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team based in Crewkerne, Somerset.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for both the internal and external (customer, stakeholder and subcontractor) aspects required for the execution, delivery and ongoing management of the assigned projects including New Product Introduction, to ensure budgeted sales, cost and delivery targets are achieved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working to agreed Tods Aerospace project management best practice, effectively deliver projects to time, cost and quality targets.
  • Manage the interface between Tods Aerospace and one or more specific customer organisations.
  • Develop and apply a thorough understanding and knowledge base of the customer organisation, key thrusts, political landscape, key influencers at all levels.
  • Liaise closely with the Planning and Production teams to support delivery of project objectives and sales / cost targets.
  • Liaise closely with Manufacturing Engineering to support delivery of project objectives.
  • Identify business opportunities for Tods Aerospace, and by forming relationships with key influencers, flush out prospective SoR’s / bid opportunities.
  • Liaise with the Business Development function to share customer intelligence and support the progression of prospects as needed.
  • Drive NPI & production projects through the business ensuring that resources are assigned to meet customer DSA and quality requirements, and cost budgets.
  • Provide accurate, clear and timely information to the customer & Tods Aerospace senior management, in a format defined by the customer and business requirements.
  • Act as a key contributor to bids, and apply fundamental project management principles and methodology to bids, including milestones and risk analysis.
  • Plan, monitor and control NPI projects, including: placing work packages, subcontracts and POs required; risk and configuration management; the achievement of contract milestones and optimisation of cash flow; and approval of project outputs before they are passed to the customer.
  • Liaise closely with Planning, Procurement, Operations and Quality functions to support delivery of project objectives.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive Engineering and Project Management experience in an Aerospace environment.
  • General understanding of composite materials and processes.
  • Strong customer focus; able to effectively balance sustainable customer satisfaction with the long-term interests of the business.
  • Compliant with business process and approach.
  • Able to effectively communicate and present across all levels, both personally and in written formats; excellent influencing and networking skills.
  • Develops productive working relationships with internal colleagues and external parties; working on own initiative, as part of a team and in liaison with other teams.
  • Strong planning and organising skills; able to prioritise and effectively manage a varied workload.
